Tracking Images on the Web
https://www.facebook.com/pg/farmtotablea...e_internal

I hope those of you who do not use Facebook can access the above url. This website, Farm to Table Art, has a tracker embedded somewhere in its website or in its images. Each time I share one of their photos on FB, almost immediately I get a "thank you" response!

I'd love to know how they track an image across FB and maybe the rest of the web, too. I hope some of you geniuses can find the code for me. I have no idea where to look. TIA

RE: Tracking Images on the Web
I did some searching for a code. I did find this one, by Google itself. A tracking device.

I don't have time right now to experiment with this. But some of the rest of you might. So here it is.

RE: Tracking Images on the Web
Flo,

No one is tracking you. When using the share button on their FB page, you are making a 2 part post on your page. You share the image in the first part and see the "canned" reply to part 1 of your post. The "almost immediately" shows that there is only 1 transaction made to appear as 2.

Save the image to your PC. Then, in another browser session, post the image to your FB page. Bet you want get a reply from them.

I used to drive WebTV users nuts with emails in response to their viewing a post of mine in an alt.discuss newsgroup. I could also send emails to stinkers in said newsgroups that showed them their user name, sign on password and the phone number they dialed to connect to WebTV. Of course any one who opened that email (many got forwarded) saw their own info because they were viewing an embedded page scripted to show that info.

RE: Tracking Images on the Web
Thanks, Tom. I have heard that some pro photographers do track where their images go - copyright protection and all.

So I thought that maybe this was a similar code.

RE: Tracking Images on the Web
Linda, thanks. I really don't want to track anything. I just wondered how this website does it.
