Thanks for posting that, Linda. Great article. I'm not as comfortable with php as I'd like, but reading the article made me realize that PERL and php are just variations of C+ ...

Perl and PHP are very similar...easy to transition between the languages....although I believe Perl has more ability to communicate with the server root than PHP..at least that is one thing I found when trying to transpose a Perl script to PHP...could not be done. Can't recall exactly what it was, vaguely recall trying to load a Ming movie (swf) file to show on webby....that icon that tells you the movie is loading.

I got a script now that can lower the bytes dramatically on swf files, so no loading icon was necessary.
