1964 or 65. My best friend and I noticed the grand opening of J M Fields dept store in Southgate Shopping Center in Augusta, Ga. As we approached the doors we were held up by a crowd of folks gathered around the entrance. Suddenly the group parted as the doors opened and out comes a small group of security men with Jane Mansfield in tow. She passed within arms length of us. I have only this to say: she may have been photogenic; but she was not attractive at all in the flesh. Her make up was caked on so thick I could not imagine how she could speak or change facial expressions without it cracking and/or falling off.
