No surprise that JavaScript leads. To me it is the most difficulty to code for cross browser compatibility. But programmers concerned with server load and band width prefer it because the work is done by users browser; thus reducing load on the server.
Also seems like JavaScript and HTML have been around the longest (at least for the average PC user), but JavaScript does some cool stuff that HTML cannot do. I have not really learned all that JavaScript can do. I only learned the byte budget codes, and some movements across the page. I have gotten more into PHP and Ming.
I gave up on trying to keep up with the latest in programming languages. Does anyone really know even the most rudimentary Python?
