I have enabled HTML code in your forum signature, and upped the limit from 255 characters to 400. We are a small personal group, so I do not see any problem.
In my sig, I have used:

<span style="font-size: 80px; color: #ff0000;">♥</span>
To get a red heart in my forum posts. To edit your signature, click on User-CP next to your name in the welcome back greeting on the top of the forum. Click on the Edit signature on the left side and add your codes. You can source this page for some codes.
