ROUND RECTANGLES USING DRAW

These directions work for MSN TV users only. Computer users will need to find tutorials written for them.

For this tutorial, we are using Arbor IM.

ROUND RECTANGLES, by BECKY:

  1. Once you have uploaded your image and clicked on "View", click on the "Draw" tab, located at the top of the page. I will be using an image that is 200x200.

    white200x

  2. Click on the "Primitive" button and choose "roundRectangle"

  3. First set of coordinates: tells you how far from the left edge and how far down from the top you want your line.

Second set: tells you how far from the right edge and how far down the image you want your line to end.

Third set tells you the "roundness" of the rectangle.

    +10+10 +190+190 +30+30

  4. To make your roundRectangle uneven, the third coordinates must look like this.

    +30+30 +170+170 -10+12

The NEGATIVE inverts the curve. Here is an example of both roundRectangles

    RRU

  5. Delete the "Fill Color" and in the "stroke Color", put the desired color for your rectangle. Enter how wide you want your line to be in the "Stroke Width" box, 1, 2, 3, etc. I chose "4".

  6. Click on "Draw" and the results will be on the next screen. If the results are not what you desire, you can hit your "back button" and "reset" and start over.

  7. You can add more roundRectangles by clicking on the "Draw" tab and changing the coordinates.

  8. When you are finished, click on the "Output tab. In the "Format" box, select the type of output image. Select jpg or jpeg or leave as a .gif. Click. Move cursor down to "Storage Type" and click on "single file.

HINT: To reduce the byte size of your image, click on "ImageType" and choose "truecolor", then go down to "Quality" and enter 75. Click on "output."

  9. TL in the spaces provided or else click on the thumbnail image. This will then show you the full sized image. Use your "Go To" key and select "Show Current." Copy the URL that appears and paste it into your File Manager.
