MAKING TITLE IMAGES
FOR MOUSEOVER EFFECT

Go to the Image Magick of your choice. Do NOT enter a URL into the box for this. Instead scroll down to the "Optional Input Attributes" below.

  1. Size - 40x130
    Format - gradient
    Meta - choose two colors.
    The first color will show on top. I chose blue-white. Make one of the colors the same as the background color of your page.


  2. Scroll up and click on View.


  3. On next screen, click on Transform tab at top.


  4. Next screen: click on Rotate Left; then click on transform.


  5. Now you'll see your blank image oriented horizontally. Click on Output tab at top.


  6. Format: click box, scroll down and click on "jpeg"
    Cick Single File radio button beneath this box.
    Scroll down to Options; Image Type - Truecolor; Quality - 80. Leave all other settings alone.
    Scroll up and click on Output button.


  7. On next screen, click on thumbnail image to get the temporary URL to transload to your own directory. Name it "blank.jpg"



This is my blue-white blank image


Now you have the blank image. If you want the title images to be the same color, then use this blank.jpg to annotate on. But if you want a different or lighter color, then make another image, following steps 1-4 above. Now follow the steps below to annotate the title onto your image.

  1. Click on Annotate tab at top. Type title into text box. Try to keep it short.


  2. Offset: I find that +0-3 works best with a one-liner. Gravity - center.


  3. Scroll down to Options. Fill Color - delete; Stroke Color - either color name or hex #000099 with the pound sign as shown.


  4. Point Size - leave at 24. Stroke Width - 1. Leave all else as is.


  5. Scroll down to list of Font names in box. I chose Palatino Italic. Choose one and click. Use up arrow key to get out of box.


  6. Scroll up and click on Annotate button.


  7. You might want to change some of the settings if you don't like what you see. If so, use your Back key and make the changes.


  8. When you get what you like, then follow steps 5-7 in the first list to Output.

Make 3 more title images and save them to the same directory where you have all the other images. Now return to the mouseover directions.
