Body Language
The information you put in your body tag is important basic information for your browser. Most people use but a few of the possible attributes that can be used in the body tag.
Here are body attributes. This is one body tag, starts with a bracket and ends with a bracket.
body
- bgcolor="#Color"
- background="URL of Background"
- text="#Color"
- link="#Color"
- alink="#Color"
PC only can view this
- vlink="#Color"
- xspeed="?"
Used to move your background across the screen left or right
- yspeed="?"
Used to move your background up and down on your page while viewing.
- fontsize="medium"
Your own font setting so others see the page as you do.
- transition="pick one"
This is the way the page presents itself on the screen.
- logo="URL of an image"
This is a small icon that will appear in favorites if saved, shows on your info key too.
- address="either an URL or text"
Defines the authorship and contact information.
- credits="URL of whatever except an image"
People or websites to give credit to for some contents of your page.
- instructions="URL of whatever except an image"
Any special instructions about the page and or future publication thereof.
Not all these attributes need be used on all pages. Some pages may benefit by having one or more and in other cases they may simply detract from the content of the page. It's always best to keep gimmicks and cutesy things to a minimum unless they directly enhance your page contents. So check out your body language and make sure what you are whispering to browsers across the Web.
