COMPOSITE AT IMAGE MAGICK

These directions work for MSN and computer users.

For this tutorial, we are using Arbor IM.

  1. For this tutorial, we will be using this Firefly image. I am going to show how Composite and F/X work together.
Once you have uploaded your image and clicked on "View", click on the "F/X" tab, located at the top of the page.

  2. Click on the "Primitive" button and erase what is in the box and enter
    "-80" then click Implode

  3. Results

  4. Now click on the "composite" tab. The URL of the image should still be in the "memory", enter it into the URL box. Do nothing with any of the prompts except for the "compose" button. Click on it and choose "difference" and then "compose".

  5. When you are finished, click on the "Output tab. In the "Format" box, select the type of output image. Select .gif or jpeg or leave as a .jpg. Click. Move cursor down to "Storage Type" and click on "single file." Click on "output."

  6. TL in the spaces provided or else click on the thumbnail image. This will then show you the full sized image. Use your "Go To" key and select "Show Current." Copy the URL that appears and paste it into your File Manager.

  7. As always, the number for the "primitive" is not set in stone. Experiment and decide for yourself what you want to use.

  8. In next month's issue, you will learn how to composite with two images.

  9. Here are two examples of what you can do with Composite and implode..
