PAGE TRANSITIONS
What are page transitions? These are simply special effects that work for MSN TV--14 of them, and Microsoft Internet Explorer--all 23 of them, when the page is first accessed.

We're sure you noticed when you clicked on the link for this column, that when the page appeared, it did it in an interesting way, rather than just appearing statically, without movement or special effects. Back out of this page, then click on the link again. You should see the page behave differently. Do this several times and you'll see a variety of special effects. This script will produce the effects randomly.

The script that Tom wrote will work for both MSIE and for MSN TV, providing you include the whole thing. Copy the script in the text box below and paste it into a new file. Change the information to suit your own page in this line at the end of the script:

document.write("<body bgcolor='color' background='URL-of_Image' text='color' link='color' vlink='color' alink='color' transition=" +tr+ ">")

Please note that this is JavaScript. So you'll be using the apostrophe, rather than the quotation marks around the body bgcolor, text, etc, colors. Use color names or hex codes.

You will not need a closing body tag, just the closing html tag at the end of your page content codes. Please check out Tom's Transitions Tutorial.
